Who We Are
The Redfish Rocks Community Team (RRCT) was established in 2009 and officially recognized by the State of Oregon in 2010. The team works to promote marine stewardship through outreach, education, and community engagement regarding the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve and MPA.
Members represent a wide range of stakeholder groups, including social and ecological sciences, commercial and recreational fishing, recreation, education, conservation, local government, local business, and watershed councils.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is the agency responsible for the management of Oregon’s marine reserves and marine protected areas. The team works in collaboration with ODFW, and other partners to develop recommendations for the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve & MPA in consideration of biological and socioeconomic information. The RRCT serves as an essential liaison between ODFW and the local community regarding marine reserve activities.
